Big Why: The most important key to your Home Based Business success is your big why. You must have a reason to start your Home Based Business that is bigger than yourself. It could be to quit your Job. It could be to spend more time with your family and help your children. It could be to start a Humane Society store. Your why is the most important because having a big why will automatically ensure that you have continued dedication, a never give up attitude, a positive attitude, and you will have the motivation to continue to learn. You may have heard a story about two brothers, identical twins, who were brought up in poverty. Their lives as adults could not be more different. One brother was extremely successful and the other was homeless. When asked about the reasons for their status the answers were pretty interesting. The successful one said that he had to be successful based upon his upbringing in poverty. The only direction to go was up. The homeless brother answered that he had to be because that’s all he knew was poverty. So what was the difference? The difference was in the mindset. After all they were identical twins and had the same upbringing but they each had different interpretations. Success then starts as a decision. A decision is made that you are going to be successful. You will be successful.
It doesn’t stop there however. Just spending your life convinced that you are successful without taking action to better yourself is nothing more than having a delusional false belief system. A lot of people, men in particular, will brag and overestimate their skills and strengths. Saying that you are successful is not about bragging. Saying that you are successful is an internal discussion with yourself. The mind can be fragile and needs reassurance and that’s where your inner voice can make a difference.
The next step is to visualize where you want to be versus where you are today. Does success mean that you have high earnings and steady job that allows you to meet your basic needs and to save for retirement? Does it mean that you will have your own business so that you have power over your income to enjoy your life to its fullest and to provide for your family? Whatever the destination is for you will be a personal choice. There is no right or wrong answer. However, there are different levels of success. A lawyer will generally have more income than a plumber and enjoys a more lavish lifestyle.
